Benefits of Membership        Who Should Join?

Current SPCP Membership Rates (effective January 1, 2026): 

• Professional Membership $150/year; includes print copies of 4 journals per year.  (Discounted membership of $100/year is available when you elect online-only access to our journal-no print copies will be mailed to you.)
• Student Membership $100/year; includes print copies of 4 journals per year.  (Discounted membership of $50/year is available when you elect online-only access to our journal-no print copies will be mailed to you.)
• Retired Member-Receiving Print Journal $80/year; includes print copies of 4 journals per year (Discounted Retired Membership of $30/year is available when you elect online-only access to our journal-no print copies will be mailed to you.)  To qualify for Retired Membership status you must have been a member of SPCP for at least 10 years, be at least 65 years of age, and you must have retired from your primary occupation. To apply for this option, use the "CHANGE LEVEL" option on the renewal form.

Dues paid today will be make you an active member until January 1, 2027. If you are renewing your membership and you have not paid your dues for awhile, you do not need to catch up. A few days after you pay, a staff member will advance your membership to 2026 and your dues will be considered paid until January 1, 2027. 

Current members should login to renew your membership. If you have more than one e-mail account, use the same e-mail address to login and renew. Use the "forgot password" option if necessary. If you need assistance, contact JoAnne Brewster (brewstja@jmu.edu). Avoid setting up a second account.

You may pay online using a credit card or PayPal. Online payments are processed by PayPal. To pay by credit card, select "Pay with Debit or Credit Card" or "Guest" on the online payment screen and you will prompted to enter credit card information.  You may also pay by check. Information about where to mail checks will appear on your invoice.

NOTES:

• While PayPal is our electronic payment processing service, you can use any credit or debit card to make your payment.  If you have ever had a PayPal account using your e-mail address, PayPal will ask you to log in before it will process your credit or debit card payment.  This is a security requirement designed by PayPal to protect you.  If PayPal will not allow you to log in as a guest, log into PayPal.  You will then be able to select pay using the bank card that you prefer.  
• To join, individuals must at minimum provide their name, e-mail address, physical address (work or home) and a telephone number.  
• Delivery of print journals to some locations outside of North America and Europe can be unreliable.  We recommend choosing the discounted, online-journal-only membership if you live outside of North America or Europe.
